Goo-gle

Dear Larry and Sergey,

Gmail is holy. Please don't defile it with ugly themes. You can screw around as much as you want with Orkut, but DO NOT with Gmail.

Gmail is holy.

Whoa! Some serious reaction I see!

It was released world wide coz it worked awesome with the internal version... so you could blame the Googler population for this and spare the poor Demi-gods ;) haha

@ Manasa!

All you Googlers are out of your minds to let such a thing happen to the most-revered-of-them-all Gmail!

>:-<

gmail does look DiRty now. :(

It clearly violates google's fundamental design philosophies :
1. "Delight the eye without distracting the mind" and
2. "Simplicity is powerful"

@ Abhishek

Manasa dear, ... and how exactly do I 'turn off' the Swiss alps on my login page in Gmail?

It looks gay! :-P

Oh dear. Its true then. Excessive intelligence abolishes simple thinking.

Elementary dear friend.

Step 1. On the top right corner, click on 'Settings.'

Step 2. Click on 'Themes.'

Step 3. Click on the first theme - 'Default.'

Step 4. Ta-da! Your preferences have been saved!

:D

Ms. Harikar!!

You made me doubt my intelligence and actually log-out of GMail to verify what you said! >:-<

My Theme *was* default and secondly, inspite of doing it again, the LOGIN PAGE (to avoid further confusion, the www. gmail.com page where you enter your username and password)STILL shows me the alps and it still looks gay!

Hmpf.

OHHHH

This is unfair. I agree. Google IP doesnt show such a login page. My deepest apologies :(

I dont think you can do away with that though ... :'(
