Chocolate is considered to be an aphrodisiac - it is a substance that enhances or intensifies your sexual desire. I knew this fact since class IX and somehow it has stuck with me ever since. While I did figure it out practically that it is indeed true on a case-by-case basis, I came across this article today.
The article tries to explore in a very unsatisfactory way the relationship between chocolate consumption and frequency of sex. Whether there exists a correlation has been a subject of many a scientific studies and apparently nothing concrete has been established. What is true is the fact that chocolate is a mood lifter which gives a sense of happiness and well-being. Eating chocolate also induces a sense of being in love - a general happy feeling bordering on euphoria. Chocolate also provides a lot of energy to the body. So the fact that it induces a feeling of being in love coupled with a supply of energy probably gives rise its reputation of being an aphrodisiac.
The post comes a day too late what with the V-Day being yesterday. That said, a box of chocolates would have been an ideal gift.
Anyways, Sex or No-Sex, I have decided to be happy - Eating chocolates seems to be the best approximation right now! :-)

chocolate also keeps the body warm. from the article, it is evident that most of the places where the consumption levels are high are predominantly cold regions. that could be an argument in favor of increased chocolate consumption. however, i like the idea...:-)
now you know why chocolate flavored condoms are so popular, not that I speak from personal experience :)
