Women are like hurricanes..

So trippy, yet so true!!

Credits: Uss. I could not resist uploading this on the blog the moment he typed it out in the Gtalk chat window.

Women are like hurricanes -
they are all wet and wild when they come
and they take the house and the car when they leave.

10 ways to simplify your life

10 ways to simplify your life (in random order):

1. Early to bed and early to rise.
2. Finish assignments and submit on time.
3. Keep in touch with your parents.
4. Be selfish.
5. Chuck the girl/guy out of your life totally.
6. Have a bath atleast four times a week.
7. Wash clothes regularly.
8. Keep your room clean.
9. Get the bicycle fixed and running.
10. Go to point 1.

Now, I realise why my life has become so freaking complex. I don't practice what I preach. It's high time I did that.

We're Hiring

This is a 'Vatsap?' inspired post. :-)

Anyways, the assignment was to come up with an IP, inviting people for institute cricket team selections. It was due on Monday (3 days ago). Here I am waking up at 7 in the evening on Wednesday, a message on my cell reads " IP?". Holy Cow!! What a pain in the ass, I mumble to myself and get to the comp.

Meanwhile, I had been thinking of a nice theme for the IP (orders were to come up with something catchy and creative). Over the past one week, I could not come up with any. But here I am, racing against time. I follow the adage " When in doubt, Google". I hit the Google homepage and there in an explosion in my mind. What came out is this:
Cheers to Google. :-). The Google logo effect was recreated here.

MANAGEMENT!! MBA is nothing more than common sense.

It was always my desire to know what goes on within the MBA classrooms, for I was fascinated by the concept of management. I had always known and believed that management was nothing more than proper usage of common sense with loads of jargon and theories. My belief was somewhat confirmed the other day when the Prof conceded that management is indeed common sense and they are just trying to tell us how to use common sense more efficiently. The background goes something like this: She was telling us about Human Resource Management in an organization (not a company - usage of jargon you see), where she explained what a manager is supposed to do and what are his duties/responsibilities. While throughout the lecture I was wondering why it takes an MBA to realise all this, I couldn't stop myself from telling her that I felt it was no more than common sense. And she nodded in affirmation.

It is true that at some level each one of us is a manager. AND we learn the tricks and trades of being a manager over time, over experiences and over discussions. That implies you can't transform an innate non-manager (an operative, using the jargon) into a 'manager' over a period of two years. Also, a really good manager doesn't need a Harvard or an IIM degree to prove his worth.
